I went to a bourbon tasting tonight

Geez, what fun! The Quarry Bar here in Helena had six types of bourbon to taste, plus the first 25 people got a free Manhattan with the bourbon of their choice. I don't think they had more than 25 people all night.

So of the five bourbons I tasted, here are the reviews:

1. William Larue Weller
Wow! What a great flavor. As flavorful as a cognac. It made a great Manhattan as well as a sipping bourbon.

2. Woodford Reserve Bourbon
A pleasent bite, very light and very smooth.

3. Eagle Rare 17-year-old
Oakey, very smooth.

4. Sazerac Rye 18-year-old
Meh. Pretty flavorless. Boring. Strong booze taste.

5. Thomas H. Handy Sazerac
Yuck. I couldn't even finish my 1/3 shot taster. It's like the worst cough syrup you ever had as a child.
