Grand reopening planned for Helena brothel

Citing “passionate public demand,” a consortium of developers said Saturday it planned to reopen Helena’s historic Big Dorothy’s brothel, the house of ill repute that flourished on Last Chance Gulch south of Broadway until it was cruelly closed nearly 35 years ago.

A spokesman who wished to remain anonymous said the group was thinking big: “We plan to outbid the Montana Historical Society and purchase the Capital Hill Mall,” he said. “We think the collective Helena libido can support a whore house of that magnitude. Especially when the Legislature is in session.”
