A bunch of funny geek jokes.

The Gourds - a very good time

They played for almost three hours with only a few breaks. They are a great band and will be back in September.

Nation's Teens Disappointed By Banned Books

"I was really psyched to read Huck Finn when my English teacher told me it was banned, because I figured, you know, it would be dirty," said Joshua Appel, a sophomore at Rocky Mount (VA) High School and one of 14,000 teenagers recently surveyed by the ALA. "But it was totally lame: There was no sex or violence or anything. They say 'nigger' in it, but I can hear that on half my CDs."

Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles per gallon.

Grand reopening planned for Helena brothel

Citing “passionate public demand,” a consortium of developers said Saturday it planned to reopen Helena’s historic Big Dorothy’s brothel, the house of ill repute that flourished on Last Chance Gulch south of Broadway until it was cruelly closed nearly 35 years ago.

A spokesman who wished to remain anonymous said the group was thinking big: “We plan to outbid the Montana Historical Society and purchase the Capital Hill Mall,” he said. “We think the collective Helena libido can support a whore house of that magnitude. Especially when the Legislature is in session.”

Montana Sucks (now go tell your friends)

Our "Treasure State" is under assault by tourists. It is not by accident that Montana is called "the last best place", and we must ensure that it remains that way. We need to eliminate the rumors that Montana is beautiful, and fun place to visit - or worse yet, live here. Together, we need to spread the word that "Montana Sucks" and encourage people to visit other states like Alabama or New Jersey.

Big Fish

Dan Block displayed an impressive 30-pound carp he caught in the Canyon Ferry Reservoir near his home in Helena, Mont.

Friends of the Northern Yellowstone Elk Herd

These guys are to the right of James Watt:

"Friends petitions the court to recognize that wolves are being used as a bio-weapon targeting the civil rights, economy, customs, culture, and heritage of the citizens of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Friends petitions the courts to find that all agencies and employees of those agencies, who have breached the public trust, as evidenced by the excessive wolf densities and in defiance of Congress and the Delphi 15. Friends petitions the court to order the surrender of all management authority over wolves to the US Department of Agriculture and seek funding for lethal wolf controls from the Granger-Thy Act and order the US Department of Agriculture to work with the Montana Department of Livestock."

My Friday night is going to be better than yours!

Actually, Trevon's and Dan's are going to be equally good.

Driving to work

I saw beaucoup cars in the ditch and had to wait for 45 minutes on Boulder Hill and they pulled a motor home out of roadway. The most inpressive wass the guy pulling a 40 foot camper trailer who somehow managed to end up on the wrong side of the Interstate.

Fun with science

You have to watch the video to believe it, but this restaurant in Japan has a goldfish tank…in the deep fryer. Because oil floats on water, despite the massive heat (163 degrees Celsius) the goldfish simply stay away from the surface and all is well. They eat the crumbs of croquettes and other fried foods that fall to the bottom, and can live in there for 5-10 years as they happily clean away, ignorant to the fact that certain death awaits any potential escapees.

I'm glad this isn't my dog.

Firstly, the Barbie doll issue. I know the kid is forgetful and sometimes leaves her bedroom door unlocked. It truly sucks to be a hardass, but I'd appreciate if you didn't swallow the body parts. If you could just spit 'em out it would avoid the whole morning-after trauma thing. By the next day chances are I've forgotten it ever happened and I'm simply not equipped to encounter pink hands and feet sticking out of your shit when I stoop to do my civic duty.
